Security for our users is our number one priority, and we take it very seriously. That is why we don’t store any of your credit card or bank account information, and instead we process payments with a 3rd party, PCI-compliant provider, Balanced Payments. This service never stores your data directly, but rather tokenizes it securely for future purchases. Processing Fees

Fees are only applied after a successful transaction. When sending payments, there is a 2.9% + $0.30 credit card fee applied to a 10% Sobrio processing fee. Receiving payments is always free. There is a $0.50 ACH fee for bank account deposits when you choose to withdraw money from your Sobrio account.


How can I start receiving credit card payments?

You already are! Sobrio drivers are automatically eligible to receive credit card payments, and your riders will be prompted for payment upon your arrival at their location.

How much does it cost?

Receiving payments is free! Depositing money to your bank account will have a $0.50 ACH deposit fee, but you can choose to do that any time.

How do I deposit money to my bank?

Easy. From the dashboard or driver menu of the app, you can add your bank account as well as some basic information, and start depositing money directly to your bank. Making deposits can also be done from the dashboard or driver menu. You can see an accurate measure of how much pending money is in your account prior to making a deposit. Deposits may take more than 1 business day for delivery. Learn more.


When should I enter my card information?

Anytime. You are able to enter your card information at any point leading up to the arrival of your driver when the payment is due. However, it’s generally easiest to do it before requesting a ride.

How secure is my card data?

Sobrio uses a Level 1 PCI-certified service provider for credit card processing security, and your card number will never be stored. Your card will be tokenized for future purchases, and this is encrypted over SSL. Learn more.

What if I want a refund?

You should only pay for the ride upon your driver’s arrival, and therefore refunds are not supported. If there is an issue beyond this point, you can report the user for payment resolution.
